The history of Cameroon flag is closely linked to that of the country. This flag has evolved both in form and in colors as Country growing. Thus during the German occupation the flag of Kamerun had his flag, after World War 1 the territory was divided between France and the United Kingdom as League of Nations mandates and both part part of the country had their own flag. The national flag of Cameroon was adopted in its present form on the 20th May 1975 after Cameroon became a unitary state. It is a vertical tricolor of Green (for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon), Red (the color of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity) and Yellow (stands for the sun, and also the savannas in the northern part of the country), with a five-pointed star in its center.
