[RECAP] Accessible Sydney

[RECAP]

On Saturday, December 8, I participated in @EmekaUlor 's Worldwide Accessibility Walk WAW

The Worldwide Accessibility meetup is in commemoration of the annual International Day of Persons with Disability. This is a United Nations observance which is held 3 December annually. During this meetup more accessibility information was added to Maps thus making the world more inclusive.

As this was the first Local Guides meet-up that I was organising myself, I decided to join forces with my very good friends @igersSydney “Instagramers Sydney” for their Photo Walk & End of Year Picnic #igerssyd_cp_picnic

They always get quite a few attendees and organise the best days. This particular meet-up was generously hosted by Centennial Parklands

We all met at the Water Feature outside Centennial Homestead and I was pleased to see ramps up to the cafe and function areas; as well as disabled toilets which had signs written in Braille.

We were all led on a photographic wander through a section of one of Sydney’s most beautiful parks; taking photos of majestic black swans, geese, stunning rose gardens, and picturesque bridges.

We then returned to our picnic spot in Paperbark Grove for a scrumptious picnic provided by

J’adore Catering and more photo opportunities.

@PennyChristie your photos are so beautiful. The skies are cool blue and that rainbow got me wandering.

It’s gladening to know you hosted your first meet during WAW.

The accessibility signs and trails caps it all. Actually, the first time seeing a sign with a braille that’s fantastic.

Thank you for hosting and sharing. Let’s guide better.

Cheers

Hey @PennyChristie ,

Thank you for sharing a recap of @EmekaHous’s Worldwide Accessibility Walk WAW that you have participated in.

The photos are breathtaking, and I am happy to see that there are people who care about others and want to make their lives better.

Thank you once again for the inspiration and the good example of how we should all help others.

Praise your contribution @PennyChristie
I think that we are in a position to clearly communicate the voices of handicapped people.
