Hello all LGs,
Here I am presenting the recap of my first ever physical meet up where other LGs had joined and supported my meet up. Here is the meet up details.
My heartiest thank you to @TusharSuradkar who helped me to post the meet up application. His post about How to Conduct a Meetup Using New Method 2020 helped me a lots.
As per scheduled time i.e. 11:00 hrs. on 24.01.2021, I was excited to conduct my first meet up. I reached the BMC Garden, Kulupwadi at Borivali East, Mumbai.
Around 11:05 hrs., I welcomed @SujataTawde @FalguniP (the Guiding Star) and @Shrut19 (our senior LG who always keeps all LGs together) and our meet up started with brief introduction about the Accessibility Movement for all of which this meet up is the part of.
We performed following activities:
-
Check the Accessibility of the Entrance to the Park.
-
Check the Accessibility of Jogging Tracks.
-
Check the Accessibility of the Children Playing Equipments.
-
Check the Accessibility of the Open Gym Equipment.
-
Check the Accessibility of the Sitting Area for Senior Citizens.
-
Check the Accessibility of the Parking Area.
-
Check the Accessibility of the Toilets/Washrooms.
-
Check the Availability of Tactile Paths for the Visually-Impaired.
Following are the photos of the park based on the above checks and marked with an accessibility icon and also an indication of the criteria passed or failed.
In above photo we found this slope is very steep for wheelchair, hence its not suitable.
In above photo, we found garbage system is not good and that too in the park, which is not desirable at all.
In above photo, we found the toilet is permanently closed and also it is not accessible at all.
- In above picture, path is accessible till the tree. But due to tree orientation further itтАЩs not accessible.
On concluding the meet up, as a green initiative, I wanted to thank our LGs who attended the meet up by gifting the plants which I bought from Nursery of Plants in Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Following are some snapshots of gifting moments.
After inspection of park in view of Accessibility features, I created the Google Meet link for those who can join meet up virtually. The screenshots of the same is attached in the photo album. The link of Photo Album is here. I want to thank @KalyanPal @NareshDarji and others for joining the meet up virtually.
By this meet up we have joined the Accessibility Movement for all initiated by our LG friend who is Accessibility Champion and Accessibility Guiding Star @TusharSuradkar . I want to thank him from bottom of my heart for guiding about hosting the meet up and Accessibility features.
At the end of meet up, we all had unique flavor Fruit Tea at Kamdar Milk Point near the park which was awesome and meet up ended with lots of fun memories and knowledge.
Conclusion of the meet up: This BMC Garden, Kulupwadi at Borivali East, is partially accessible for disabled.
At last, I want to thank you @KlaudiyaG for highlighting my meet up Meet-ups round-up: January 23 to January 30, 2021. Also, thanks to all those who helped me directly or indirectly for hosting this meet up and hoping to keep such support continuously in future.
