This is the recap post of I had organized my first meetup at Swarnim park under the #AccessibileGandhinagar banner on the 31st of last month. The meetup was aimed at updating accessibility information in the park on Google maps.
I reached the meetup venue exactly 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled time. A few moments later @Smart_Shubham and @kalpeshmb joined me and we proceeded further in search of accessibility features in the park. During this time we checked accessibility futures at various gates, parking, and toilets, etc. in the park and updated it on the map.
Since both Shubham and Kamlesh have recently joined the Local Guides program, they were very excited to learn more about the program. I shared with their detailed information about the local guide program.
Before the meetup, many local guides wanted to know what you do in the accessibility meetup and they wanted to connect with me virtually. So during the meetup, we had a virtual conference and 10 people joined us. During this conference, I gave them a live demo detailing what accessibility information we should update on the map.
The worst thing I saw during this meetup was that people were adding the wrong places on the map. Since the park has a childrenâs plaza for children to play on, people are adding a new location to everything on the map, such as sliders, swing that isnât really right. So I successfully removed more than 10 locations that were not appropriate.
The park has been closed for a long time due to the pandemic so that we could not visit the entire park as it is currently undergoing renovations. About two hours we finished our meetup and left the park.
I had physically joined this meet-up at Swarnim Park Gandhinagar. It was nice experience. We explored the accessibility and facilities at Park. I found that It is one of the best l accessible place in Gandhinagar.

Thank You @NareshDarji for organizing this meet-up . Thank you @kalpeshmb helping me to join this event.
how big swarming park is ? Can any one find all places developed in swarnip Park by clicking swarnip park on map? If yes it is good to remove all petty places added on map added as separate places. I think there must be a separate board indicating all places created in the park.
You really did a great job @NareshDarji . I got clear guidelines from this post for my next accessible meet-up. Thanks a lot for this nice rcap. Stay safe.
It was a fantastic and educational Meet-up. I participated remotely and learned about the accessibility meet-ups. You did an excellent job of covering the entire park.
