Hello, My dear Local Guides!!

This is the Recap post of AccessibilityBD- Map Check the facts-1 meetup held on 16 January 2021 from 01 pm to 4 pm panthapath, Dhaka. The meetup was an initiative to update the accessibility status on the Map. live verify and correct information through Check the facts on the Map.

As there are more modern installations. We organize this meetup point in panthapath, Dhaka. let`s start the meetup on time. First, we all gathered in front of the main gate of panthapatha, Bashundhara City Shopping Complex, Dhaka.

Working Step-01. All the places that checked Map Check the facets. The following is a short list:-

• Adonize Fitness Club
• NOVOAIR Ticket Sales Office

Working Step-02. During this reunion, various installations in Dhaka, panthapath area were inspected. The following lists were examined/live verified.

• Checking Facilities of wheelchair Parking.
• Checking Facilities of wheelchair accessible ramp.
• Checking Facilities of wheelchair accessible entrance.
• Checking Facilities of wheelchair accessible restrooms.
• Checking Facilities of wheelchair accessible toilet.
• Checking Facilities of kids friendly Zone.

Working Step-03. Examined/live verified Places(Shopping Moll, Hospital, Small Shop).

• East Raja Bazar Jame Masjid

Working Step-04-Spam free mapping: During the tracking and staying in the city we noticed some spam and wrong information then we tried our best to report these.

Working Step-05- Kids Friendly Zone: There is very little entertainment for kids in Dhaka city. Now a lot of new modern kids for entertainment have been created for kids zone. similarly, Bashundhara city’s top floor been created Toggi World kids zone. lots of games and beautiful or tidy kids in the environment.

Working Step-06-Local Guides Answer/Question: We discuss the use of maps for new locals people. ‍Some of them want to know and ask us for unknown information. @AbdullahAM and I answered their questions

• What will happen with the Map Contributions points?
• How to add Places?
• What are the benefits of using the map?

It is very important for a local guide to check the map. Especially when check the facts many places have noticed wrong information upload many new local guides. Covid-19 does not allow access to many places during the time.

But it was really challenging for me to do this meetup. Presenting accurate information is actually difficult.
