Hello LG friends,
I had the honor of attending the accessibility meetup that Tushar Suradkar hosted on December 17, 2023, at 11:30 AM at the Green Signal Veg restaurant in Pune. I could not have been happier to spend wonderful time with 14 passionate local guides.
In addition to accessibility, we also had a brief discussion on:
- Google Maps’ latest features
- Any problems and their fixes while participating
- The Green Signal Veg restaurant’s food review.
- Making regular contributions on the Connect platform and resolving any problems that arise
- Organizing potential future meetings and the topics to be covered
We looked at the new Captions feature and how to add it to a Google Map. The majority of them immediately gave it a try and benefited from earning a good number of points.
We also looked at the recently added option to use emojis when liking other local guides on Google Maps. We were all fascinated by this feature. Both of these features are restricted to the mobile version only. (Google Maps version 11.109.0101)

Tushar gave the attendees some mementos, including stickers and an India Local Guide badge.

Photo 03: Local Guides proudly show the swags for the photo.
Photo 04: All were engaged in the sharing thier thoughts and experiences.
Photo 05: The food was excellent, and respected reviews were posted by LGs. These are the photos by Abhishek Patki, Omkar Jadhav and Vaibhav Pawar respectively.
Accessibility features were evident at the restaurant, as Tushar had indicated in his recap post, and staff members were available to provide manual assistance upon request.
Since this was my second visit, I used the opportunity to write a brief updated review and add some photos to get bonus points!
Photo 06: It was a great feeling for me to meet Tushar personally. Rohan and I had met early this year in Mumbai.
Overall, it was a satisfactory meetup with fellow LGs, and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I am anticipating a series of meetups in Pune in the near future, since the majority of them seemed upbeat and enthusiastic about it.
Thanks, and it was my pleasure meeting you all:
