Good morning connect
First of all very sorry for being late for posting this after a month. Because of my personal commitments. On the day of event I reached there at sharp 1.30 p.m. There was a huge amount of participation and all the students were waiting for their respective topics.
This competition was specially organized for all children (normal children and specially abled children) It was Ms. Seema Bhattacharya’s idea. She is the founder of Ujjawala (NGO)
She had invited M. Jeet Patel, DDO of Valsad city then I was invited as a Google Local Guide.
Also present among us Mr. Sunil & Vaishali Mistry as judge of the program ( retired artist and drawing teacher), and the organizer was Seema Bhattacharya(Founder Of Ujjwala Group ).
In the competition there were 4 categories as follows for Normal Children
- From Senior KG to 2nd (Only coloring work)
- From 3rd to 5th
- From 6th to 8th
- From 9th to 10th
For the 1st category they were given printed drawing sheets and they simply needed to color it. And the other 3 categories were given different topics for drawing.
Now for the specially abled children, there were no categories or sub groups, all of them were given printed drawing sheets and just needed to fill colors inside them.
Also the Drawing Sheets and Colors were given by us.
- Before the competition started, the DDO came and cut the ribbon and greeted all the children. He was very happy to be invited in such a competition as this competition was something special for him and also it happened for the first time in Valsad. He was very happy to see that the normal children and as well as the specially abled children were sitting together and showing unity. As these days some children stay away from such kind of children. He was deeply touched.
- Jeet Patel also greeted the children very nicely and also happy to see all of them sitting together. Then he requested the parents of this specially abled children to let them come and enjoy in such type of environment for their mental growth. Also added that they have very powerful senses than us. They cannot write or read but with their expressions and the way they draw today shows their feelings and how they feel. These are guidelines for such type of children.
- As soon as Dr. Jeet Patel finished his speech, Ms. Jasmin (Trainer of the specially abled) gave example of a boy who was sitting in front of the doctor. She said that this boy could not speak or reply to whatever we ask him. If we ask him where did he go with his dad, he would draw a picture of him, his father and the scenery behind.
On the very same day, Government Of Gujarat scheduled prize distribution ceremony for (special children) winners in the sports competition organized by them. So many students were present there since morning. The students of Navsarjan School were tired so they didn’t join this event. It was a sad part for me as they didn’t join this event. After a few days I contacted Ms. Krina (Principal of Navsarjan School) and asked for permission for re-organizing the competition and she agreed with my request.
Then finally we re-oraganized the competition on 16-12-2019. We gave them cup cakes, pencil, eraser, scale, color box and printed drawing paper with only outlines and just had to fill colors only.
The whole event was captured by KM News. On both the days Mr & Ms. Mistry announced the results selected some drawings and announced the results eventually.
*Participation Certificate was given to everyone
