Accessibility checkup in Akola Bus Depot.

Many of us know that the State Transport service of local government is very much important in India. The state transport services are very cheap and safe for people. People always prefer to travel in State Transport in India. Since I was traveling to Akola due to some medical reason, I decided to make an accessibility checkup on Bus Depot. Akola Depot is important in Vidarbha Region and is very well connected to other cities in Maharashtra.The bus depot didn’t found accessible friendly. The only entrance was accessible by wheelchair. The seating arrangements were not accessible friendly since there was not any wheelchair ramp.

Also, the toilet was not accessible by wheelchair.

It is really important that Bus Depot must be accessible friendly. So I decided to do some research about accessibility of Bus Depot and **I found on the Internet that the Pune division of State Transport(ST) in Maharashtra(India) started making Bus Depot accessible friendly by making ramps and other facilities. It should start in entire country by the time.Cleanliness is highly required in this Depot.**This was my 5th entry in our Accessibility For All - The Movement program.This was all about the Accessibility check-up.

The bus stand looks typical one from Maharashtra and if you ever go to Aurangabad which is my home town the bus stand looks 99% similar

I was so astonished and happy to see the photos especially since you have captured all features so well and also I have not gone to Aurangabad for 20 years now.

20 years, it’s a long time @TusharSuradkar . Yes, dada Aurangabad has two bus stops one at Sidco and another one Central. I have seen both and gone to Sidco Bus stop many times. My hometown is 180Km from Aurangabad. Whenever I stay in Aurangabad always visit Prozone Mall, Barkat Tea Center, and Tara Paan Center. We always prefer to have dinner in Hotel Lokseva in Sidco. Happy to know that you are from Aurangabad.

कुणाल, छायाचित्र खूप छान टिपलेत तू, आणि माहिती पण खूप उपयुक्त आहे, परंतु सुरक्षे च्या हेतूने हा सरकारी डेपो किंवा बस थांबा, पूर्णतः सुरक्षित नाही, विशेष करून रात्री च्या वेळेत, खूप विचीत्र असे प्रकार इथे घडलेले आहेत, सर्वानी याची पण दक्षता घ्यावी, म्हणून आपण सर्वानी सुरक्षा पण लक्षात घायलाच पाहिजे, किंवा लिखाण करताना ह्या गोष्टी आपण नमूद करू शकतो का? हा पण विचार करायला पाहिजे.
