Hi Everyone, This is my fourth Accessibility For All-The Movement post. This time I have done accessibility check up in my College. College name is Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati. There are number of courses offered by the college from 11 12th, B.Sc and M.sc. College is specially famous for B.Sc in Vidarbha region. Almost B.Sc toppers of Amravati University are from this college. Currently I am doing my PG from here. There are two buildings one is Main and other is Mathematics building. Both buildings are accessible friendly. Main entrance don’t have Wheelchair Ramp but there are another gate which are accessible friendly. Ground floor of both building are accessible by wheelchair. I am noticing most of the buildings have only ground floor accessible by Wheelchair but not first.Similar is the case with this buildings. I believe that Education is basic need of everyone and such educational institutions must be accessible by everyone, from ground floor to top floor with lifts.Classrooms,Toilet and Parking are accessible friendly Also I have added Accessibility information of this college on Google Maps. So this was all about my 4th accessible checkup.
Yes indeed I believe college is one of the educational facility that has to be accessible friendly. Education is for everyone not for certain people only.
Thank you for doing such a good job in highling this college!
Wow! another accessibility update by you! kudos to you @kunal_gajewar ! Keep going and keep posting on connect.
One thing I would like to add is usually if there is a separated walking pathway for the blind person, then usually we can say that is accessible for the visually impaired person. Like here you can see from my last meetup at Kalyani station-
Thank you for reading my post. One Google Moderator told me that you can’t post Recap done by only yourself in Meet Ups. Meet-Ups are those where more than 2 3 local guides meet. @MortenCopenhagen
Thank you @PritishB . And yes I agree with you that places should have such seperate ways for Visually Impaired person. But i aslo think that if there is enough area for walking (more than 7 8 feet) then it can also be accessible by visually impaired person.
That’s very good recap @kunal_gajewar . Yes as Tushar said you have put the accessibility features in photo in right perspective. Keep it up bro. Thanks for tagging me.
