Hello LGs!!!
Hope you are doing great today.
I just came back to my home attending 100th Meetup of Bangladesh LG. This special meet up was held on 8 March 2019 at Silver Spoon in Chittagong city. Now I am writing a recap for you.
Some facts about the meetup
- This is the first 100th meetups of any LG community
- 120+ LGs have attended this meetup
- This was a full day conference type meetup
- LG have attended from 25+ districts of Bangladesh
Reaching Chittagong
On 7 March, the day before the meetup, we were about 65 local guides who joined the meetup from Dhaka. We reserved a full compartment of a train and started our journey to Chittagong railway station from the Dhaka railway station. We have done lots of fun things on the train and have had a little sleep at night. The train started at 9 PM and reached Chittagong at around 5:30 AM in the morning.
After that, we had our breakfast at a restaurant which was reserved for us. Then some of us went for the city tour as the event was to start at 9 AM. And some of us rested at the restaurant.
At the venue
At around 9:40 AM we started entering the venue. There were 120+ people so it took some time to do the registration.
After the registration, we got some gifts.
The Event Starts
After the registration, the event started with a conference call of @SoniaK. She welcomed us and expressed that she missed the event could have been happier if she could attend it in person.
After the call, there were several sessions held by the organizers. There were many ice-breaking sessions where attendees were entertained. There were a couple of sessions where we were shown how to take better 360 photos, how to do photo-walk, how to post on Local Guides Connect correctly etc.
There were some gifts from a sponsor for the attendees. In the end, we danced with music and had some fun. And then before leaving, we had dinner. Then we again came back to Dhaka by train. Some of the local guides stayed there for post meetup adventure to explore the city for another day. But I had to come back to Dhaka and I wish I could join them.
We had our lunch and dinner at the restaurant along with some coffee and snacks breaks. The foods were great at the Silver Spoon restaurant. I will post a sperate thread with the foods of this meetup.
We took a lot of photos and met with many local guides who share the same passion for Maps. I also made some friends here. I was surprised to see how much local guides love to help others.
Below I will post some photos with captions so you can get a better idea about the meetup.

@YOUSUFMSEDDAT is the man in the photo above. He has shared an incredible story with us. He has biked in all 64 districts of Bangladesh. I was surprised knowing about his jorney. I wish I had such stamina and mental strenght to do such thing.
Wishing @MegS a very happy birthday at the meetup.
