wow and Doble wow!!
So I just read that deleting photos from Google photos will delete them from Google maps!! 
So that’s why I don’t go up to a higher level cus I have like a month deleting photos that I already have uploaded to maps and my points are getting lower and lower. Yaiks! 
Any way… Better to find it out now than once I have deleted them all.
So I have to go back to those places again…yeii:confetti_ball:
That is correct @Seb360
People need to be careful to not delete the photos because they are only stored once in your own Google Photos albums. Adding them to Maps does not make a new copy.

Hi @Seb360 , I also found it out in the hard way - although fortunately very soon after I deleted the first photos and they could be restored from the trash folder in Google Photos (after which they automatically got restored in Maps, too).
Ever since I only “archive” pics specifically taken for Maps (and otherwise not interesting personally). Maybe you can still find some of your deleted photos in the bin; try to “undelete” them as well.
