Real bad experiences, Google maps should immediately approve the editing suggestion in which I contribute with other approaches

3 days before I got an order of Name tag from one of the employees in the Patianrowo sub-district office at Nganjuk, East Java, Indonesia, after I finished making the name tag, I decided to deliver the orders by riding a motorbike, to make my trip there smooth, I used the google map application

When approaching the office I was headed, a strange feeling arose in my mind because the google map said that I had been misdirected and had to turn to the right towards the rice field area, which I saw there was no path to that place, I already felt irregularities with the address of this sub-district office according to the google map.

I ignored it and continued the journey following the village street about 300 meters from the google map guide. I asked someone who was on the roadside, “Sir, where is the Patianrowo District office?” That man replied while pointing his finger “There it is” I went straight to the office looking for people who have ordered a name tag. Finished meeting the person and getting payment money, as usual I took the time to take photos and review the place.

How shocked I was that the sub-district office where I was standing in that place was not right there, but it was in a rice field about 300 meters to the east. I took an initiative to edit it to put the office to the right place, my editing finished and then I returned home.

Today May 16 2019 I checked whether there had been a change about my editing, it turned out that there had been no changes and the Patianrowo sub-district office was still in the middle of the rice field

Why it is so long time for Google map team approved my editing, I can understand because they are waiting for other Google local guide contributors to check my contribution, which results can be guessed for months and there will be no agreement from Google, because the active local guides contribute in this place around me there are not many in number. You need to know the fact that we stayed 700 kilo meters away from the big City of Jakarta

Based on the facts I mentioned, it would be better for the google map team to make changes based on the GPS coordinates when I edit it.

Because there is a possibility that other people will have a bad experience just like me if they head to that office, if it still too long in the wrong place position

It is a concern @Miftahul_Ulum23

It takes a long while for the Google Maps Help Desk to respond. You obviously know the area well but it may be due to dual verification of the information you provided. A major concern!

Hello @Miftahul_Ulum23 ,

This should not be a problem only with you, we all here some time have same experience , we request google to change the location but sometime it is haltted in pending status, I guess due to less number of local guides in that area, due to which the fact check process would have not been completed and your edit was not live. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ya, your problems there is similar with mine here, because the system’ of google map needs other google Local guide confirmation, but the fact, It is lack of Local guide in our area, so that is the result, long long time to

be approved by Google map help desk. Hopefully they learn from our discussion to make it better soon

This is a common problem that happens to the local guides.

Wish Google fix this problem ASAP

Just like what I thought before, many Local guide were on same situation like me.

A big hope, google map desk team makes new regulation to fix it up as soon as possible
