Re : Photowalk - Daman

This meet up got postponed many a times because of curfew and cyclone scare in Daman. Finally it happened on 2nd March.

Places visited -

  1. Bom Jesus church. [Google map link](http://Bom Jesus Church https://maps.app.goo.gl/QBJ4saW1wJGXbtdH9)
  2. St. Jerome fort. Google map link
  3. Lanes of Daman.

Bom Jesus Church - Bom jesus chruch was built in 1559 AD. The architectural style is Roman. It looks very beautiful and the ambience of this place is serene.

St. Jerome fort - It was built in 1578 AD by the Portuguese. It is around 12000 sq km long. The main feature of this fort are the large walls encircling it and the arched entrance. It has two gates which opens near the sea. There is a prison inside.

Lanes of Daman - The lanes of Daman are a fine blend of the era gone by and the current times. We just roamed around and clicked photos.

No. of attendees - 3

Lovely that you still did the meetup in a small way @PriyankaU .

The photos of buildings looks historic.

What kind of materials where used to built or construct it? Locally sourced or foreign?

What type of Labor? Forced or Paid?

I would have loved if you captioned some of the pictures and at least put a map link to it.

Nevertheless, this is amazing.

Thanks for sharing it here with us on connect.

Best regards.

Austin.

@Austinelewex Thank you!

These buildings are around 500 - 700 year old. A little is known about how they were built. I’ll surely add Google maps links.

Hi @PriyankaU ,

Good thing you finally got to complete this meet-up!

I’m just letting you know that since it’s a recap of the meet-up I’m going to relabel the post to Meet-ups.
