We chated about many things, but of course Corona Virus / Covid-19 was the first horse out of the gate. After that we rambled on a bit of politics around the world, then we met some of the gorgeous kids of the attendees. We chatted about whether Maps should have group photos (yes for the vibe of a place) and selfies (no). We also talked about and looked at some spam profiles and went through how they can be reported. We somehow got onto hobbies (maybe the giant pile of lego behind me in the chat) and Alpha wished he’d ordered some Lego before the lockdown as he can’t get it now. Naturally we’re all going a bit stir crazy. I have to say without my hobbies life would be difficult.
Finally we swapped social profiles, chatted about countries we had been too and I think Niv had the most impressive list and the talked about countries we’d like to visit. We all had the African continent in common and most were interested in visiting Nigeria.

Great meet-up and great fun. I really encourage people to join some of the virtual meet-ups being offered at https://maps.google.com/localguides/meetup/ and my next one is https://maps.google.com/localguides/meetup/d752cd53c6174e85a066dca949192c49 later this week.
I genuinely think being in touch with other like minded people at this time really helps with your mental health as it renews the feeling of belonging to a community. We’re all equal and we’re all the same and we’re all facing very similar challenges right now.
Regards Paul
