still remains as unknown even to many Keralites. Encroachments in the name of tourism is minimum which is why it remains undercover. Anyways that underrated stature may be the thing that keeps Ranipuram in its natural pristine condition even now. All they have in concrete are the buildings for stay of tourists. Those who want a smooth family ride over to the top may get disappointed due to the lack of trekking aminities. But those who love wilderness and trekking in its pricking reality will fall for it for once and for all! A tiny walk along the climbing path through the jungle will literally throw you onto the heavenly Shola grass topped hills from nowhere. Ho, its just superb on the hills, watching the steeps and mighty hills all around you. Mornings and the evenings will flood you with the dense cool misty giant forms! Don’t know why its compared with Ooty though. Actually the comparison itself is deceiving because Ranipuram has its own flare of wilderness and lush green Shola grass which a hill town like Ooty lacks. Anyways after the climb with full of blood sucking leeches all over the path, i said to myself
“Wow heavens!”
