The Raisen fort is still a witness to its glorious, magnificent and rich ancient history. Rani Mahal was the grand Royal palace for the queen.

The remnants of the Rani Mahal not only reflect glimpses of advanced architecture, as well as clean and luxurious symbols of a fear-free lifestyle and advanced culture.

This grand palace is situated after the Badal Mahal at the eastern end of the hill. The Rani Mahal is particularly ornamented with the nature of the queens. This palace is also a cluster of two and three storey buildings.

The ceilings of the bulbous domes, door frames, rectangular balconies, projected pillar capitals, brackets etc of this special Royal residence are ornate having decorative motifs.The large courtyard is located in the middle. This

Palace is connected to the Jhinjhari Mahal and Badal Mahal.

This is a protected monument and an ancient heritage. Needs to be cared by the visitors as well as by the Archaeological department. This Fort was taken over by the Archaeological Survey of India in 1974 and lot of damage was done by the treasure seekers and others. It’s a major tourist attraction situated close to the Bhopal and Sanchi which is a renowned World Heritage site.
