Random Acts of Kindness Day; 17th February 2020

A picture drawn by my daughter. This random act of kindness made my week.

In Australia, the 17th of February is national random acts of kindness day.

I love kindness for 3 main reasons:

  1. It costs nothing , so anyone can give it.

  2. A small act can have a big impact.

  3. It challenges us to look beyond our own needs and wants to see others.

A random act could be commenting on a post so that another Local Guide feels part of the Connect community, holding a door open for someone, or simply giving someone a smile.

Local guide @JustineE smiling out at the Connect Community.

You never know what someone else might be struggling with or going through. Kindness may not cost us anything, but it can enrich the lives of others.

@JustineE OK, I’m smiling back to you. :slightly_smiling_face: Is that considered a random act of kindness? I don’t think so as I’m smiling back to you. :slightly_smiling_face:

Lol. The thought counts @Ant_Bad_Yogi . And your comment and willingness to read my post I definitely consider a kindness.

@PaulPavlinovich please help. I was having trouble publishing this post, and now it’s appearing twice. Can you please delete this one or tell me how to do it? Thanks

@JustineE If there is no like or comment, can you choose the 3 dots and delete the post? I’m not sure if it is possible.

I am so happy for the picture you wanted to share with us @JustineE , you made my day too.

BTW, I want to inform you that I merged your duplicate post. I am realizing just now you tagged @PaulPavlinovich for this action, BTW, what is done is done.

I big hug to you both, my Aussie friends.

My beautiful Justine, how nice to read your post and see your smile. In Argentina we don’t have a celebration like that, but we could definitely use it.
Kindness is so necessary and benefits both the giver and the receiver.
I love to do small acts of kindness anonymously, years later and when I least expect it, that kindness comes back to me.
I send you a big hug from Argentina!
I love you, my friend!

@JustineE Ohh, I’m glad you still have that bracelet. :hugs: And I’m touched to hear that you think of me every time you look at it.

It’s the symbol of protection… and I doubt you need it, because you’re already an angel… but it never hurts!

Thanks @anu7spice . It is definitely nice to have a day like this so it is brought to the fore of people’s minds. It certainly made me think about what I could do, and I loved that. Hopefully the idea will spread. Big hugs to you too.
