During the Holy month of Ramadan, the hype around Mohd. Ali Road in Mumbai goes up. People from across the city come to gorge on food items & dishes either sweet or savoury that are prepared only during this one month. I have been organising an Iftar Foodwalk that’s open to the public once a year since 2011. The largest number of people that showed up was 58! And last year we had 45 people show up. Some crowd control was required, as not all restaurants can accommodate such large crowds which is why I downsized the attendance to about 30, but the demand was so high, that I had to host it a second time this year.
The entire food walk takes 4 hours and we cover 7 stops. Everybody contributes Rs. 500 each (USD 7) and I use that pool of money to pay for all the food we had! This year Walk 1 had an attendance of 35 people and Walk 2 had an attendance of 31 people! Overall 66 Satisfied Foodies ?
