Today, I am sharing a simple yet flavorful Rajma Recipe—a favorite in Punjabi households. This dish is packed with rich spices .
In Restaurant Rajma is served with Hot Rice orTandoori roti./ Chapati.
My bade Daddy ji used to say if any guest comes to Punjabi house on Sunday either Rajma, Chicken or Dal Makhani will be served.

@Shruti_U from UP @SalmaanN from Bangalore @MayuriKubal from Mumbai had snacks when they visited Mumbai my home. Cooking for friends and sharing meals is always a special experience.
Ingredients:
4 handfuls of white rajma (soaked overnight)
3 medium onions (chopped)
3 tomatoes (chopped)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
3 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
Salt, turmeric (haldi), and red chili powder (to taste)
1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp kasuri methi.
1 tsp Punjabi garam masala
1 tsp dry coriander (dhania) powder
Fresh coriander for garnish
Method:
- Pressure cook soaked rajma with a little salt for 3 whistles.
2.In a pan, heat oil, add jeera, then onions. Sauté until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste, then tomatoes, and cook for 5 minutes. Let it cool and blend into a paste.

Return the paste to the pan, cook on medium heat, and add salt, turmeric, chili powder, jeera powder, kasuri methi, garam masala, and dhania powder. Mix well.

- Add only boiled rajma and cook for 5-8 minutes until oil separates.
6.Pour in the rajma water (add extra if needed) and give 1 more whistle. Simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.
- Check the consistency—it should be mildly thick. Garnish with fresh coriander
Onion Salad:
Slice onions thinly and marinate with salt, a pinch of red chili, and lemon juice for an hour. Optional: Add slit green chilies and fresh coriander.
