Rafting at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand

On 25th of February we make a random plan to go for rafting in Rishikesh, which is famous for International Yoga capital and also for best rafting spot in India. Rishikesh is located in Uttarakhand state of northern India and one of the religious pilgrimage spot for Hindus. There are many famous and old temple in Rishikesh

I was with my 5 friends, 3 boys(including me) & 3 girls. Firstly we have reached to Rishikesh Bus Stand then we book taxi for going at Rafting point, which is situated around 2.5 km from bus stand

There are various rafting agencies in Rishikesh but as a local guide i use Maps and find the best rafting agency(which have good reviews and high rating by our fellow local guide). Maps help me and finally i pick a good rafting agency (4.5 Rating) on maps and i dial it’s number and asking our location then they send taxi to pick me and my friends, after 15 to 20 minutes we reached to the rafting agency office.

Price of Rafting Package in Rishikesh:

This year the Uttarkhand Tourism set up fixed rate for rafting because in previous days some rafting agencies pick extra money from the visitors so from this year the price of rafting is fixed in Rishikesh.

Food stall near the bank of Ganges:

As we reach in the midway of our tracking everyone was feeling hunger so our guide told us about a food point, it was interesting that the food is available there ?

We eat noodle and some of our friends drink tea.

Cost of Tea: 20 INR/cup

Cost of Noddles: 50 INR/bowl.

I have never had the pleasure to go on rafting, but it wouldn’t hurt to try, preferably in warmer weather in my area.

Hello @IshantHP_ig ,

Thank you for sharing this great experience with us. I always wanted to do some rafting, but never really got the courage to do it, as I’m a bit afraid of falling in those troubled waters. I guess it’s a big laugh to do it with friends, right?

In India rafting is practised at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, however it’s available in south India but rafting in rishikesh is world’s famous because it’s near to Haridwar which is a religious spot in India.

Hi @IshantHP_ig

Yes, I have tried it before. I love it a lot I have been many time to rafting near Kanchanaburi in thailand.

In Thailand maximum 8 people including the rafting guide, depending how big is the boat.

I love rafting a lot  and you ?

In India also maximum 8 person allowed in a raft.

There are various amazing activities which we can do here such as: Bungee jumping, camping, trekking, rock climbing, paragliding, waterfall trek, bonfire, jeep safari etc.

Which is your favourite ?

I stay for 2 days at my cousin’s house, she is practising yoga from Rishikesh.

Hi @IshantHP_ig ,

Thanks for the tag. I have no rafting experience even though I received several invitations from friends to go with them.

We have several places to go rafting in Bulgaria and one of them is close to my city in the Iskar River. The best season for this activity is the spring and the early summer when the river is deep and fast. You could do it during the autumn too when the surrounding mountain ridges are in golden colours.

Yes, dear @IshantHP_ig - I have tried; but long back. I am (also) from Kerala, the land of rivers - we have many varieties/ variants at many places. [Now I am not in Kerala].

You could have tried to convert few of them into LGs; we keep doing it in our trips - really do not know the final success rates of such conversions, though.

All the best, once again… with regards & love.
