Quick visit to Curitiba!

If you’ll be in the city for a short time, but do not want to miss interesting places, here are 05 suggestions to visit in Curitiba:

1. Ópera de Arame:

Ópera de Arame is a Brazilian theater.

Its name derives from the constructive style, made of steel tubes and metallic structures, covered with transparent polycarbonate plates, reminiscent of the fragility of a wire construction.

In a circular shape, the building is almost entirely surrounded by a lake, so that the access to the auditorium is made by a footbridge over the waters.

2. Parque Tanguá:

Next to the Ópera de Arame, we have Parque Tanguá, one of the main parks in the city of Curitiba.

It has two lakes and an artificial tunnel. It also has an anchorage, bike path, race track, cafeteria and two parking lots for cars (in the lower and upper areas).

The view from below the waterfall and the Christmas lighting are more attractions that this park provides.

3. Museu Oscar Niemeyer:

Oscar Niemeyer Museum: Curitiba tourist spot fundamental to be known.

Also known as Eye Museum, due to its format.

In addition to the external beauty of the structure, the interior is also fascinating. Work by architect Niemeyer, famous for having designed Brasília - capital of Brazil.

A super pleasant environment, with excellent bars and in the background is the famous Parcão, a park where visitors take dogs to walk at will and enjoy the sun.

4. Jardim Botânico:

The Botanical Garden of Curitiba has an iconic format, drawing attention for its tropical greenhouse with 3 domes, a wooded area with trails and a sensory garden.

Garden designed in geometric shapes, always flowery and very well maintained.

Little publicized, but right next to you, with easy access, there are also running tracks, tennis courts and velodrome for bicycle training. With green area for walks and picnics.

5. Prainha da Itupava:

If you still have the night in Curitiba and want to take a drink in the late afternoon, A Prainha da Itupava is an excellent tip.

Whoever passes by in the late afternoon can see a crowd of people of all ages.

Familiar place with great drinks and food options.

Some bars and restaurants that take advantage of the square area and sidewalks as the main lounge. As Curitiba has no beach, this place ended up being affectionately called Itupava’s Small Beach: Prainha da Itupava.

Now you need to know Curitiba personally …
Yes, the Oscar Niemeyer Museum is accessible to wheelchairs and people with other mobility difficulties.

It is a really beautiful place. Up to the great projects of this Brazilian architect, who designed the capital of our country.
And have a drink on the beach that is not a beach … hahah
Congratulations on the excellent posts, always prioritizing accessibility and inclusion!

Hi @Eros_Hassen ,

Thanks for sharing this great post with us! All the places are amazing, but the one that catches my attention is the museum of Oscar Niemeyer. I’m a big fan of him and his work. :slightly_smiling_face:

Very thoughtful of you to make also a list of the places. I’m sure that a lot of Local Guides will find it very useful.
