Questions/Answers - over 2000 lost points

I am Level 8 local guide. I have almost 500 reviews, over 1100 photos and answered over 10,000 questions. Last week, over 2000 question/answer points disappeared overnight. Poof!! - they were gone with no explanation. Why?

I think your problem is related to “My Activity” of Google Maps!

Hi @Rod52 ,

as @davidhyno already mentioned point lost can be depending of your setting for Google’s My Activity. Please have a look there to check your settings if you marked to keep your activity, otherwise activity is deleted and points are dropped as well. You can read more about that on this article: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps?

If your activity is OK then another reason might be if some of your contributions are determined to be in a violation of the content policy, our filter running automatically in background marked them as private and you lost your points because of this.

If you feel that your contributions are all legitimate and you didn’t see anything removed from it then you can tag a Google moderator here to check if your account might be experiencing some issues.

For most of the start of this year I’ve been traveling overseas and returned to Australia last week just in time before Australia closed its borders because of the coronovirus. Since my return I have been catching up reading on past Connect posts and just read this post and your reply. On reading this post I checked my own contributions and see that my Answers has dropped from substantially to zero. I then checked My Activity and confirmed that my Web and app activity is active and that The activity is kept until I manually delete it. As I cannot see how my contributions could have been determined to be in a violation of the content policy. I checked the Google moderator list and cannot see who would be the moderator tha I should contact. Can you advise on me!

A few months ago, I said I lost 2000 question/answer points. On 3/20 or 3/21/20, I lost ALL of my questions/answer points. I lost over 10,000 points for absolutely no reason. It probably took me 10 hours to answer 10000 questions. 10 hours of my life wasted. I want those points back immediately.

if you experienced a big lost of points recently and mainly on Q&A I suggest you check this post from @PaulPavlinovich , there is something going on for GMB and points on businesses related to the current Covid-19 situation.
