It’s happened again!? I’m loosing points achieved in “answers” it seems when I turn off location services to conserve battery power?
I had this issue before so it looks like I will have to re-answer the answers I have previously answered!

Please visit this link and make sure that you have selected “Auto-delete (off)”.
Otherwise, you will keep losing points from answers given by you when they get deleted automatically by Google.
This should solve your problem in the future. Sorry, there is no way to recover the points you already lost.

In any case the loss of point is not due to the settings of the Location Service, but to the status of My Activity . Please read: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps? .
Also, from : Answer questions , in the Google Maps Help page:
In there you will read that it is required to have My Activity ON to be able to keep the points
If on My Activity your setting is different from this one here below, your answer are automatically deleted and the points not given.

Hi, many thanks for letting me know that. I have now removed the auto delete function to do NOT delete. I will now try to regain my level 8 status again.

If you want to mention a user you need to use @ followed by the username. Pasting the profile URL in the post does’t work in that way, so I am tagging @MortenCopenhagen for you

@MortenCopenhagen @ErmesT I am having an issue where my former Answers have been deleted and now, Fact Finder is ghosted. I no longer have the option to answer questions. Auto-delete is Off and Web Activity is On. Is there another feature I need to turn on? Thanks
Location access should also be on so the timeline can be created.
It has become a lot harder to achieve the fact finder badge.

Hello @MortenCopenhagen it is indeed on. But only when the app is open. Does that affect it? I previously was Fact Finder Bronze but it is now ghosted…
Only when access is on always the Check the facts will know what places you have been to and hence can ask you to check the facts about.
But please weigh privacy against the value if those badges.

@MortenCopenhagen indeed, I had turned it off for privacy purposes. It is now back on, but Fact Finder remains ghosted and questions are not being offered to answer. Might there be another feature I have inadvertently turned off?
I have lost 7000 points due to this tick being on,
