Question on Local Guides Connect Live 2020

I am very happy to have recieved an Invitation through email to apply for this amazing opportunity to get to meet new people from around the world and a chance to finally visit Google Campus :tada:

I would like to clarify If I can still apply as the form mention’s you need to be 21 years of age by 11th October while my 21st Birthday is happening on 16th October pretty Ironic don’t you think :joy: .

Would like to know if this will be possible to be considered for application.

I am a digital marketer and a growing Instagram Influencer and believe this experience would greatly increase my knowledge on google products also help me to spread more awareness amongst my country people about the program as not many people are aware of it.

Hi @being_realist !

Unfortunately, the rules are clear in this regard, as you yourself have been able to verify in the official event page: Connect Live 2020

But this should not discourage you: keep an eye on this community and take an example from who will be selected! You will see that each of them has a particularity, a characteristic that has made them chosen among all the participants. Yes, they split!
Learn from these, but you don’t have to copy them, you have to adapt their strengths to your personality, to your way of being: this will certainly help you become a better LocalGuides, especially when you can give more value to the quality of the contributions than to the quantity!
And you will see that you will have many more possibilities in the next connect Live 2021! You must believe it!

You need to be 21 in order to attend Connect Live, as 21 is the legal drinking age in the United States and alcohol will be present at some events. We understand that you’d like to be eligible to attend this event, but we can’t make any exceptions. Thanks dear moderator for your prompt response. Funny yet again how I don’t smoke nor drink. But it is understood rules are rules and therefore maybe next year it is :grin: .
