Quest is the most interesting thing I've done as a Local Guide.

Last September I had a chance to participate in a quest in San Francisco.

It was dedicated to exploring the city.

I have created meetup (https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/Explore-San-Francisco-in-a-fun-quest-form/td-p/1984353) for this type of event.

We gathered in the morning at Crissy Field, San Francisco. The weather was beautiful:

The quest consisted of more than a hundred tasks divided into several categories with 3 levels of difficulties.

Each finished task should be proofed with photo or video.

Here are some examples by categories:

From β€œoutdoor adventure” category:

Have a foot race with a stranger on a beach. Just like Rocky 3. Splash each other and frolic in the water when the race is over.

or

Tell us of or show us your favorite beach ?. Why is it your favorite?

From β€œDo Good” category:

Hold a sign offering a 15-second hug and film the moment someone takes you up on the offer. ?

or

Help a tourist find their way around your city.

From β€œTeamwork” category:

As a team compete in a 400 meter run ?against another team.

or

Take a team picture at UC Berkeley. Here is my photo.

From β€œQuirky” category:

Skip a rock at least 10 times on water.?

or

Find the coolest toy at the coolest toy store, in your humble opinion.

I found β€œThe best book in the World” which have to be the coolest toy:

Such kind of event combines physical activity, exploring the city, finding out new facts, collaborating with other teams and having fun of course. I have learned a lot about the city from locals and discovered really unique places.

At the end we gathered back from where we start and had nice afterparty:

I think quiz or quests is a great way of how to explore the city and Local Guides may help with creating them. If someone would be interesting in creating something similar lets collaborate ?
