Quarantine experience at JEN Hotel Puteri Harbour, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia.

Never come in my mind I will experience a mental challenge by staying 14 days in a room of hotel. On 17 Nov 2020, I came to Singapore for attending my company client who want to review their new project of assembly line. Before my departure to Singapore, I have to go through a SWAB test in Malaysia 48 hours prior to the departure date. Well, it’s my first time for SWAB test, it’s really uncomfortable yeah till my eyes teared lol. Upon my arrival in Singapore another SWAB test again, Gosh

After spending 8 days in Singapore, I came back to Johor Bahru via 2nd link check point. As I am under RGL (Reciprocal Green Lane) entry to Singapore, so my return to Malaysia is under RRGL (Return Reciprocal Green Lane). As per required by MOH (Malaysia Health Ministry) at immigration, I need to be quarantined 14 days in quarantine center which in my case is JEN Hotel Puteri Harbour.

Prior to my departure to the hotel, the MOH put a pink bracelet on my wrist. It’s to tell peoples I am under surveillance yeah!. As I reached the hotel, the hotel staffs assist me in everything, from the parking lot, registration till I enter the hotel room. The hotel is very helpful. I was assigned to non-bath tub room so I quickly call the reception and request to have a room with bath-tub. It won’t take long time for them to change my room (well, the room with bath-tub is just next to my room, so I move all my things in a second lol).

The room is cozy and really comfortable. My room is facing marina so I just enjoy watching the scenery during my stay there. The foods are OK and the staffs there are really friendly and supportive. So, my 14 days’ quarantine feel like just a week lol. I am grateful as I have chance to went through my quarantine period in this amazing hotel. I am sure to stay in the hotel again (but no more for quarantine ya!), so I will try all the facilities there (which I have no chance during my quarantine).

Thanks for sharing your quarantine experience @Ahm5ruZ - I’m really interested to hear first hand from those that have experienced this. Were you able to leave the room at all (like, going to lobby / vending machine for example), or are you basically stuck in the hotel room for the 14 days? I’m thinking of taking a trip back home sometime next year, but the idea of being confined to a hotel room for 14 days scares me a bit. Also, did you have to pay for your stay there?

@iyudhi you are not allowed to go out from the room during your quarantine stay. They feed you by leave the meals outside your room door. They will bell your room and quickly run from there lol

Your 14 days quarantine cost need to pay by individual. For Malaysian resident the cost is MYR2100 while for foreign the is MYR4200 (this may subjected for change depend on the length of stay they assigned to you for quarantine from time to time). During your quarantine, you are not allowed to leave your room at all. Your departure to your from from parking lot will be escorted till you leave the room on your last day of quarantine.

While you stay in the room, you are allowed to make in room meals order and also to request for laundry service.

Quarantine may be part of the new world order when it comes to travel @Ahm5ruZ . Sounds like you are well prepared and have a reasonably comfortable hotel room with a splendid view facing the marina :slightly_smiling_face: By the way, I like your photo of the marina !
