Dahi tikhari is a traditional kathiyawadi dish (North Gujarat). It is mostly used as a side dish or an accompaniment. This is the most underrated dish of Gujarat (Most of us like rooting for underdog including me!)
This sidekick dish has always been my favorite. I love it more than the main course. It is simple to make and tastes like heaven! It is a curd/yogurt based recipe.
Chop 1 tomato and onion like this!
2. Add turmeric, powdered chilli and salt to taste in curd and mix well.
3. Heat the oil, add cumin seeds and some curry leaves.
4. Let the cumin seeds pop, add onion and cook until brown.
5. Now add tomatoes and let it cook for few minutes until it looks like this!
This seems to be a very delicious food item @PriyankaU especially the curry-leaf toppling makes it look attractive. You seem to have worked hard on this article with all the animated images.
