Quality vs Quantity: Add Photo's that help guide the world!

Dear fellow Local Guides

I most love sharing the photos of the places I visit around the world because firstly, I love taking photo’s and secondly, I love helping others and sharing the experiences of the many places I have been fortunate enough to visit. Not every business owner can afford to advertise and not every business owner understands the power of the internet! And yet by simply posting a picture of that yummy Pizza we have just eaten, we can help not only the business owner but also the millions of people looking for that Pizza! It’s a Win-Win and I love it!

However, every day on Google Maps, I find that when I search for a place, I find that there are far too many irrelevant pictures posted for a place and sometimes even as the cover photo! This is not only frustrating when you need accurate information about a place in a hurry, but it is also not good for the business that photo may represent to the world!

Hence, I make an appeal to my fellow local guides… when you post pictures about a place you have visited, take care to post pictures of “Quality” that provide visual information and add value to our beloved Google maps, instead of chasing “Quantity” and posting pictures to get your picture count up!

Happy snapping my friends! Enjoy!
