I love brunch and I love New York. And New York brunches are the epitome of living the New York life. La Follia is significant to me because this is the first time I met up with a group of friends in a more intimate setting after meeting at a party. In New York, it’s hard to find the time to even get together due to our crazy schedules, time conflicts, and overall busy lives being in one the most bustling, zesty, but exquisite, and adventurous cities of all time and whatnot.
La Follia is a cross between a high scale Italian neighborhood restaurant and a rustic cabin in the woods. It still appalls me that this place somehow managed to aesthetically capture the juxtaposing settings. Out of all the fancy options available I had the zesty lemon pancakes drizzled with saccharine maple syrup that not only tasted all that much better here but also embodied the contrasting but pleasant atmosphere. This place symbolizes fine dining and great company - the epitome of what every New York brunch should entail.
This restaurant was not only simultaneously quaint and fancy, with some of the best-tasting pancakes and mimosas that have ever blessed my tastebuds, but also marks a fond memory of the time I met a group friends for the first time and was able to truly connect and talk about anything and everything as well as share our experiences as young professionals just starting out our lives in New York City. All this transpired while being surrounded by a comfortable atmosphere, aesthetic lighting, and delicious food - an experience I will never forget!
