Pune’s Most Famous & Crowded Bhel.
Sapakal Mataki Bhel
Wow unbelievable This bhel is the bhel I liked the most out of all the bhel I have eaten so far. I tried this bhel. And this bhel was really heavy. They have 2 types of bhel,
1- Dagdi Pohe Matki Bhel.
2- Chivda Matki Bhel.
And we tried both of these dishes and they were really good. We liked them a lot.
I didn’t know how old this type of Matki Bhel is, but when I read a newspaper clipping displayed in their shop, I came to know that Matki Bhel is very old. And Sapkal Matki Bhel, the Bhel, has been around since around 1965. And from this, it was realized that it has been 60 years since their Bhel started. And I inquired about their small business and they told me that now our 3rd generation is running this business.
If you look at it that way, their shop is very small. But their taste is such that their name is very big because of that.
You can see in my photos what their shop looks like and what raw materials they use to make bhel. There was a huge crowd there and I tried to take a video of making bhel and it was a great success.
The location of this Bhel is at Pasodya Vithoba Temple in Budhwar Peth. And its timings are from 5 pm to 8.30 pm.
And their food is available on Swiggy and Zomato. And they also have a page on Facebook and Instagram. But it gets very crowded there in the evening. If you go to him, you will have to wait for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
And after a long wait, we got the Bhel and it was truly amazing.
And through the initiative of Support Small Local Business started by @AjitThite Dada ,I feel very happy to visit and support such new small businesses. For that, I would like to express my special thanks to him.
