Public published reviews down

I try to learn, so please help me to learn more. The more review I add, the more of my public reviews disappear. What a mess …

For two weeks ago I had 1152 public reviews , since then I have added around 5 more reviews, all five are public and I can see them incognito. But, the total number of published public reviews is down to 1150.

I am really puzzled

Hello @I-am-Q !

The hidden reviews is an issue that all the Local Guides are facing from a while ago.

I love your desire.to learn much more about this passionate activity of being an active contributor on Google Maps.

Regarding to this I let you below some rich information in two posts made it by Morten.

Please take the time to read carefully this two fantastic post. I think they will spread light in this topic.

In addition to this don’t hesitate to ask the community through this board many questions and doubts as you have. You would find always a Local Guide how van help you.

Thanks for your kind recommendations, @SebaasC

@I-am-Q , we recently had a lengthy discussion with you on hidden reviews. Kindly let me know what is different on your side compared to what we discussed here in December.

Cheers

Well @MortenCopenhagen , I can’t put my finger on why the sum of my public reviews decreases instead of increasing when I add reviews (approved ones). The worst thing is now that I don’t know what it is that disappears. When my review of MMM Migros at Büyükçekmece was published on 16 Dec, I could see incognito that I had 1133 published reviews. Since then, I have added almost 38 reviews of which almost 28 is published. It should be in total more than 1170 published review. But is is 1150!!! Before I came back from my trip to middle east, I had 1152!

I know no way to find which reviews are taking back and why.

@I-am-Q

You should be able to see hidden reviews marked in your review contribution list.

If not, please use this post to identify which of your reviews are hidden. But it takes some effort to do.

Best of luck

Thanks @MortenCopenhagen , I have a list of all the reviews I’ve added and marked the ones I can see incognito. The tricky thing is that I only have the last 100 reviews and none of them have been unoblic since December. My gustemate is that the disappearance of the number of public reviews may be about my older reviews … so going through over a thousand reviews and comparing private and public lists is just an annoying and unnecessary act. However, I have tried to write about many of those that have not been published and also those that have been published and then become private, without succeeding in getting them public again. I have reworded my review of Istiglal Mosque in Jakarta at least 10 times and deleted and re-reviewed three to four times with no success. As you can see in the list my review of “-//Pondok mall 2”, was public, but has become private, and I have not succeeded to make it public.

thanks for your time and advices

all the best

Is it possible that the review is being reported as not useful or not relevant? This particular review in this post shows no reasoning behind the rating given, so im curious if the owner or someone is flagging it. I myself have flagged a review from someone who left a 1* at a barber shop just because he doesnt cut womens hair, it wasnt what he was trained to do. The review was removed within 2 hours. Just a thought.
