Hello Guides,
How are you?
This week I want to share with you one of the public entertainments here in Canada: public swimming pools.
With the arrival of summer and school holidays, public pools are reopened and there are several units spread across the city of Toronto.
The city hall requests that, before visiting, users check which are the closest units through the website, which has a complete list of schedules for visits (https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/recreation/swimming/#location=&lat=&lng= )
In addition to using the swimming pools, if there are places available, it is possible to participate in swimming courses, which in this case require a small fee for equipment and certificates.
This weekend we visited the Alex Duff Memorial Pool unit (https://goo.gl/maps/DqmJ5Vvsu4vyi9vd9 ) , which is attached to the park and also has a very nice structure for children, adults, teenagers, seniors and people with disabilities.
The pool has a very complete structure with children’s pools, heated pools, slide, pool with access ramp for people with physical mobility, toilets and changing rooms adapted for the elderly, people with physical needs and children. The environment has unisex toilets, female and male toilets. Cabinets for storing objects (the investment of 0.25 Canadian cents is required to use them). The entire environment is monitored by Salva Vidas.
This unit is open from 12:00 to 20:00 and the place is subject to capacity, so it is necessary to be careful with visits.
It’s really worth the trip, and knowing that there are environments like this with inclusiveness for everyone, makes a lot of difference.
