Proud to be a contributing Local Guide in South East Asia - from a Dutch expat living in Bangkok

Since I made the plunge to shift my career from London to South East Asia, not only has my life changed – but the role of technology and Google Maps in my life has changed dramatically.

During my 3 years thus far based in both Vietnam and now Thailand, I have come to realize just how powerful a tool such as Google Maps can be. I can see every day how the landscape of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars is constantly shifting and evolving. I have personally discovered the pleasure finding new places through Google Maps, and it brings me great joy to contribute back to the community as well.

Furthermore, I am also really happy to contribute (albeit in a very small part!) to the success stories of local entrepreneurs, that are setting up shop and for whom Google Maps represents a way to be discovered and celebrate great experiences with the world in order to grow their business. Helping locals and tourists alike to grow their business through technology is what will drive this region forward and I cannot wait to see how things shape up in the next few years.
