Proposal to return the sidewalks to pedestrians, banning illegal parking in the city of Cluj-Napoca

Hello,

My name is Pop-Tiron Călin Gabriel, a Romanian citizen residing in Cluj Napoca.

With this material I would like to make the following proposal:

If the provisions of the Road Code are not sufficient, introduce the article in the local legislation
“In the city of Cluj-Napoca it is not allowed to park any kind of cars on the sidewalk outside the specially arranged places”

It is not too late for such an initiative to echo at your level, especially because more and more citizens from other localities who do not have parking places for their vehicles arrive in the city. They only occasionally use their cars, leaving them on various streets, crowding them.

As you can see from the few pictures, the way cars are left is contrary to the legislation in force.

It is impossible for a person with a small baby in a stroller or a person in a wheelchair to travel on the sidewalk. Thus, these people have to risk traveling on the road.

On one of the streets that we took pictures of, Alverna Street, I met cars that had apparently affixed to the windscreen by the Local Police. I consider that the initiative is inappropriate and that the employees of the Local Police have to do their duty by applying the provisions of the Government Decision no. 965/2016, which amended the Regulation for the application of the Road Code.

These provisions must apply to all streets, not just to the city center.

I wait with hope, and perhaps with naivety, not so much your response as quick and continuous action.

I promise you that this initiative will only end when the sidewalks in Cluj-Napoca will be pedestrianized.

I sent this message to:
City Hall Cluj Napoca
Prefecture of Cluj

Yours,

Călin G. Pop-Tiron

I think Google map should also add status of the sidewalk to the evaluation because we even have bigger problem in Cairo Egypt.
