Proposal to create a thread for Photos posted without a story

Photos shared here should come with a story. The story will give us a context such that we can comprehend the messages carried by photos.

But we already have lots of Photos posted without a single word attached.

We should consolidate them into a single thread to make Stories with Photos more discoverable.

How do you think?

I think you already know my personal opinion @YK1001 . My answer is yes, I agree with you.

Most of that post have only a reply, inviting to give more info, that never arrived.

It would be a nice search, find and aggregate photos with similar contents (well, not just a “deposit of lost photos”) merged in some specific thread.

A big cleenup of the board.

Let’s think of a meaningful thread title.

In case there are enough support of this idea, we can immediate start to do it.

And yes, we have lots of posts that can organised by similar way with suitable thread title. We can propose when our ideas become more mature.

@YK1001 @ErmesT , I like your ideas of lumping all single posts into groupings - Places of Worship Around the World, Native Foods Around the Globe, Floral and Animals etc.

But what I would really like is for individual Local Guides to do is list the address or mark the location of where they took the photo in their individual single photo posts. It is such a shame for an an individual Local Guide to take a photo, upload the photo here on Connect, and not write one word or give the location of the photo. Such a waste of time and effort.

Cheers,

Karen

Hi @StephenAbraham ,

Nice catch for my typo. You remind another Feedback to Improve Connect that I should submit.:kissing_closed_eyes:

Actually, I am looking for two positive outcome in the discussion.

  1. What is the best practise sharing photos in Connect. Everyone one extra small step, much better for all of us.

  2. How to reorganise the existing photos, such that it is much more discoverable to increase the impacts of the posts.

Please let us know what kind of Groups should be there to cover majority of photo contents?

Hi @YK1001 .

Indeed its a great idea, in that way it would be a benefit for my kind of local guides who can’t make much stories about photos.

Yes I agree with your idea.

And then in photos thread do we categorised the photos? ?

I mean Nature, trips, adventures, holy places, flowers?

Thanks

Hi @AkmalB ,

Thank you for your support and your inputs.

First of all, when I were making this proposal, I am only targeting Photos posted with short Subject, and without any context helping us to comprehend the carried message of the photos.

As Search is mainly for text based information, it will be hard for us to discovery those beautiful photos.

Yes, we need to think of the Classifications that we should use.

@KarenVChin give us the ideas to create multiple such threads - one for each commonly used categories.

I want to move forward by creating the first thread and start moving posts into it.

Then based on further feedbacks, we can fine tune and scale out.

I would like to see a post teaching us how to create Photos sharing posts, such to have greatest possible impact.

Do we need another arrangement for Videos? Endless questions.
