Promoting the Reach of Local Guides at other International Programs

This year, I was selected for 2 Harvard University Conferences: Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations in Boston and Harvard US-India Initiative in Mumbai where I met more than 900 young participants from around the world. When they got to know about my involvement as a Local Guide, they got interested in the topic and wanted to know how they can contribute too. I was excited to share my experiences with them and make it easier for them to start their journey as a Local Guide. In a span of 7 days, the response I saw for Local Guides was tremendous. Even coming back from the program, many approached me for insights for applying this year. Passing on my knowledge gained from previous Connect Lives, I was most thrilled to help them out. I will keep sharing my experiences with others whenever I get such opportunities in future.

Google Maps has been very instrumental in helping me explore places around the world. I had had not realized my enthusiasm for traveling and helping people who like traveling, had it not been for Google Maps. Maps is changing the world we live in, constantly and I am so proud to be involved in such a fantastic program.

Local Guide Program has got me to explore and extend my horizons. I started doing things that I never imagined I would ever do. For example, as simple as clicking pictures of food was a bit awkward for me but now it comes naturally because that one photo would help many in taking better decisions. What a unique way to assist people than helping them choose better? Thanks to the platform of Local Guides, I got to help businesses and people. More than that, making life-long friends who have shown the same resonance towards my friendship and the zeal to contribute.
