Pritanio a greek restaorant in Regensburg Germany

I and my flatmate spontaneously decided to go eat greek. Because we did not know much about greek restaurants in Regensburg we checked on google maps for something nearby, so we found Pritanio located in the southeast center of Regensburg. unfortunately, there is no parking lots for the restaurant so we had to drive around first to find something, this time we got lucky because there were 2 places free right next to the restaurant. but otherwise, there were also paid parking lots if we could not have to find anything good. But if you are in the city center than this place is also easily reachable on foot.

The restaurant has an easy entrance on the front no stairs but it has 2 doors to open, so for a wheelchair user a little bit harder to reach but possible. In the times where the weather is nicer, they also open the garden door which also has no stairs and is easily reachable, since it’s on the ground floor.

the inside is nicely held a little bit dusty though but I think it’s normal for this kind of old traditional restaurant. It has nice traditional Greek touches and gives you the feeling of a Greek restaurant. the outside is more modern but does the job.

The weather that day was nice and since the Corona crisis, we wanted to sit outside, for my opinion a good decision but for the first time inside is would have need also ok. The staff was nice professional and did know what they are doing. They welcomed us showed us to our places and together with our drinks offer us also some shots of traditional greek alcohol which I did not drink because I don’t drink at all, but my flatmate was more than happy to help me out on this.

the waiter a tall guy (seen in the photo above) very nice and knows what he is doing, fast and responsible. it seemed that he was the only one working at that day since they are not allowed to occupy all seats there probably was no need for more waiters, nevertheless, he had help from the manager or a woman dressed differently which welcomed us.

The card offered a variety of options and was nicely separated into appetizers, soups, and the different options for meat also separated into pork, beef, chicken, and lamb, also a little expensive for the region, but because the location nearby the city center it was expected.

Because Germany is a big Pork eater the prices were also balanced so pork was cheaper compared to beef and lamb which were the most expensive.

I had a fillet of beef-liver which came with fried onion, and a small portion of tzatziki, rice, and salad. It was not bad if one is into that it cost 12.90 Euro eating liver can be healthy sometimes and I’m sure there are people that would love to eat that, for me it was a try even though I don’t prefer it so often.

My Flatmate had traditional Gyros with rice, a salad, and fries cost 11.90 Euro. And another friend a died chicken breast which was, in my opinion, the best-made feed of these 3, and cost about 12.50 euro.
To drink we had an ordinary beer and I had a Speci which is a mix of lemonade and Cola, we paid combined around 55 Euro
