How not to agree with you, @Pateperro

However, for many this means that “someone” (governments, institutions, authorities) will have to find a way for transforming the beautiful words in something real. What I believe is that the awareness should grow inside us, guiding our way to take decision. Most of the people in the world lives in cities, small and big, so the impact they have in sustainability is bigger than the ones who lives in rural areas. Not delegating to others means taking individual choices. We are consumers, our choice about “what to buy” can influence the producers, and drive the transition but, again, we have to make this transition inside us, first of all.

Being this a Community of Local Guides, I would like to go back on topic: How do you see your, as a Local Guide, in this transition?

Here a post that may give you some idea about how the Local Guides can help in this: Sustainability tips from Connect Moderators

Hi @ErmesT

First of all thanks for reading…

I agree with you about our own transition, certainly, It’s necessary that each people become responsable of their decisions, and this imply assume the life cycle of a good or service in our role as a responsable consumer, however, I thing that producers and goverments has a great influence to drive this transitions too. On one hand the producers could addopt more sustainbility strategies in their process and products and not only limit to comply with the law for example. on the other, the governments has the potential to impulse the changes that society requires to ensure the wellbeing both of the people and the environment. A good example of this is what in the Living Planet Report 2020 (WWF) calls Bending the curve where shows how the biodiversity loss reverse it tendence adopting three possible scenarios: The increased conservation efforts, The more sustainable production and The more sustainable consumption.

As a local guide, I try to make this transition with an initiative which calls Simbiociencia and pretends to show and share the local biodiversity in a environmental education context. Here is the facebook page if you want to know more about Simbiociencia: https://www.facebook.com/Simbiociencia.

Great post about Sustainability tips from Connect Moderators, is nice to heard about the work around the world of people concern about nature. Here you can find all my support.

PD: sorry if there are some errors with my english, I try to improve it.
