Pretoria doesn't have a beach, but it definitely has got waves

Pretoria, the beautiful capital of South Africa. It is better known as the Jacaranda City as it is blooming with purple petals between September and November. One of the streets Herbert Baker Street was listed on the 29 most beautiful streets in the world by Nick Mafi, an author on Architectural Digest Journalist.

Johhys Liquor, Pretoria

Pretoria is full of history, good and bad things happened around this City and its peripheries, this includes Tswaing meteorite crater, Menlyn Mall, Johnys Liquor, Apartheid and the Inauguration of Nelson Mandela in the Union buildings. There are a lot of historical sites and social sites to visit. City of Pretoria is surrounded by beautiful townships; Attridgevillle, Mamelodi, Soshanguve, Mabopane , Garankuwa and Hammanskraal (All this towships have something special about them, and I call it waves). I am a local guide who grew up in the townships and moved to the City few years ago. It was exciting to visit the City when I was a child from the township, the visit to the zoo and museums are memories that will never be taken away from me. Now it is even more exciting to go visit the township as I am now staying in the city. I normally go to the townships to play or watch soccer match, have a haircut, get my car washed, and have lunch at the favorite barbeque spot s(local known as Shisanyama spots).

Rospa’s Pub, Soshanguve

The most interesting thing that I have done as the local guide was to be able to help people find a place with ease. I am also able to answer their questions as soon as they are raised e.g. How much is entrance fee charged. Five of my photos were able to reach more than 50000 views, so I take that these reviews had a positive impact to people who had seen them. Being a local guide I can tell half of the story with my review, and my pictures will complete the rest of the story. As a local guide I can help people to view the area on the google map before hand, it sort of align expectations with reality. I took a trip to Mozambique late last year; it was inspired by reviews from other local guides. And I really enjoyed my stay in Mozambique.
There more visits I make around my area, there more I realize that I didn’t know my area as well as I thought I did. My challenge to people around the world, especially people from developing areas is to start visiting the local areas with 50km radius, capture moments and share with other people. In this way we will be putting our area on the map, making the unknown known.

Ocean Basket, Wonderpark Mall.
