Prambanan Temple is one of 8 Indonesian World Heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO.
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has inaugurated 8 World Heritage Sites in Indonesia. Selection is based on ten criteria: 6 criteria for temporary cultural heritage categories 4 criteria for natural heritage categories Some locations are referred to as “mixed heritage sites,” when symbolizing both natural heritage and cultural heritage. In Indonesia, there are 4 cultural sites, 4 natural sites, and no mixed sites. And Prambanan Temple is cultural site.
