I come from the Dominican Republic, a beautiful half-island in the Caribbean and well, Dominicans have been recognized for being very communicative and community oriented. When I came to the U.S. in 2008 adapting and learning my way in this big city was a challenging and exciting adventure at the same time. Discovering Google Maps Local Guides, later on, became a great way to find about new places to visit, great restaurants to meet u with friends, nice coffee shops to sit with my laptop to work or just to enjoy a nice piece of cake by myself, nice museums or parks nearby me. This made a significant difference for me. I have worked in customer service for a few years in the past, and after understanding how hard it can be to deal with different people and their needs I like to praise places where the staff is kind, knowledgable and attentive, to me this makes a big deal. I love to visit restaurants and provide my honest opinion about them, plus of course, share a few photos of my delicious food.
