As an avid traveler, it takes a little bit of time to go around new countries and cities. So first and foremost, this is a quick thank you to all the Local Guides because you guys have saved me incalculable hours of figuring things out in places where otherwise would have been incredibly hard to not just communicate but also to navigate.
When arriving at a new location, opening up Maps and seeing those suggestions at the bottom of the screen gives me a sense of calmness. I know that the passionate people behind all those suggestions want the same things that I do when someone comes and visits the Bay area; for the travelers to fall in love with the area as I have.
I’ve been hosting people where I live for years. Showcasing my area to someone who doesn’t know it and its eager to get to know it.
Taking them to my favorite coffee place, my favorite market and to top it all off, a beautiful sunset overlooking the Bay from my favorite spot.
It’s my love letter to the Bay.
