Hi Local guides and moderators,

I’m wondering why my recent story titled “Perfect Place for Wedding Engagement” was not posted. I actually posted it under Travel initially, but I decided to move it to Local Stories. However, when I did that, it prompted me that my post is still being reviewed but I could not see the draft anymore. Any idea where I could archive my post? Thanks

Just wanted to tell everyone my story and learning.

I posted a personal story (A Perfect Place for Wedding Engagement) under travel then I decided to move it to Local Stories. However, it went missing and I could not see any draft of it. A google moderator contacted me that my post went to spam and she shares to me this information to see why it happened.

Why was my Connect post marked as spam?

I am just re-sharing this to you just in case you will encounter the same situation.

Your post will bear a label of spam for following main reasons.

  1. Advertising.

  2. Content not in line with Connect topics.

  3. Contains offensive or unacceptable entities.

  4. Sometimes because of objections raised by other LGs.

  5. Spam filters detecting plagiarism.

  6. Successive edits in short span after publishing.

Can you now identify the reason for your post becoming spam?

It appears you did multiple edits to the post in a short span after publishing that @deepdipsalas

That’s a sure reason to make a post soam.

Maybe the mentioning of names of the restaurants and hotels we visited could be noted bordering to Advertising? Also, I did a quick edit after publishing. But in the end, my post got released from being spam and now is finally approved and posted.

In addition, as your post has been already released by @Deskata , please edit the title of your post to indicate that this issue is no longer present.

A post can be trigger the filter for a lot of reasons. The most common is an edit

Moderators are patrolling the quarantine to release the good post so, if your post has been rejected, don’t post it again. Simply tag a moderator (check here and here).
