PORTO GOLF RESORT- THE PRIDE OF KANO

December 2021, I was invited for a trip to the Porto Golf resort. Being new to Kano then, I was somewhat indifferent going so I declined. Those that went shared the videos and photos of the place, when I saw them, instantly I was drawn and I hoped for an opportunity to visit the place.

In August 2022, a couple of us came together and chose one beautiful Saturday morning to embark on the trip to Minjibir park as it is popularly known as. Three of us took off from AA Rano station on Airport road, picked up someone at First bank close to CBN (Central Bank) then we moved.

We passed through Hadeija Road (Hadeija is a major town in Jigawa state) then veered off towards Gezawa local government. At another junction, we turned left again heading for Minjibir (a popular town where the resort is located)

I have heard from different people about how nice, fun and exciting the place is. Usually, I don’t buy such claims easily because I prefer to judge from my experience.

Stepping into the place, I actually believe the people who described the place didn’t do justice to how the beauty, structure and organization of the Porto Golf resort. It was unbelievable that such a place existed in Kano. You can click here to have a full view of the resort.

So, we paid our gate fee (N1500-N2000) for entrance for adults (cheaper for kids and if you go as a group). We visited the horse ride and the Go-Karting sections. That was very exhilarating to say the least.

Another attraction in the resort is the marine/boat cruise. The environment is so beautiful and cannot be put in words as you can see in the pictures below:

Unfortunately we couldn’t take the boat ride because the old boat was bad. This will be a must if we get to revisit the resort.

We got an exclusive place to swim for a token.

Other segments of the resort can be seen in the photos below:

If you live in Kano and yet to visit, you are wrong! If you plan visiting Kano, please put visiting the resort as top priority.

You’ll thank me later

Hi @Becqui

welcome to connect.

I enjoyed the read especially because I grew up in Kano state of Nigeria. And lived in Hadejia road you mentioned and frequented Minjibri where my kid sister schooled. I remember often driving my other siblings to the visiting day because she was a boarding student at federal government girl college Minjibri.
At that time about 2004-2007 there wasn’t this resort.
I am fascinated by this story and the developments in Kano. It’s been over Ten years I left Kano, but with this, I’m almost certain I will visit soon.
Thank you for bringing this to limelight. Keep guiding
