Portland, Oregon #StateChallenge

I visited Portland, Oregon in November of 2018. Here are few pictures I captured during that trip. Also some fun fascinating facts about Oregon State.

Below are few shots of downtown Portland. I rented a electric scooter to take a tour of downtown area.

Portland is famous for Food Cart Pods. You can find several such pods in the downtown area. You have wide variety of choices of food available in these Food Cart Pods. Since I visited during the weekend, some of the stalls were closed. Unlike mobile food trucks, these trucks food carts stay put in pods.

“With hundreds of tiny kitchens throughout the city, Portland’s food-cart scene is legendary. The flavorful proliferation has drawn raves from Bon AppĂ©tit magazine and CNN (which declared Portland home to the world’s best street food).”

Another famous place in downtown is Voodoo doughnuts. There are four different locations of Voodoo doughnuts in Oregon and two of them are in Portland. Also they have nine locations in five states.

Voodoo customers and enthusiasts credit the company for creating innovative, unique doughnut flavors and products. As you see in the picture below, there is always a line to enter the store.

Here is a Portland fact for you @jayasimha78 Portland Oregon is one of thirty places named Portland in the USA, however it is unusual in that it is one of the few that is actually near water.

I did a trip by truck from Portland Indiana to Portland Oregon with a couple of friends in the Farm Stationary Engine community in the 1990’s. I did not get to see much of Portland. We arrived very late at night and I had to catch the Coast Starlight Amtrak train the next day to make my way back to Los Angeles in time for my flight back to Australia.

Thanks for sharing.

I’ve just found out that Portland has a very beautiful fall foliages view during the fall.

My dentist’s eldest son lives in Portland. She often visits her son and stays there for a month. Now I believe that she feels so comfortable with this city.

Voodoo Doughnuts might sound creepy, but looks so interesting!

Have you tried their doughnut?

And I love the fascinating fact number 8!

Another plus point to visit Oregon someday
