The town is located in the northeast of Slovakia about 112 km from Košíc and is the gateway to the High Tatras. A popular destination for tourists from both Slovakia and abroad. I will remember, for example, St. Egídio Square with a church, a view, a fountain and good Slovak restaurants.
If we don’t want to go to the Tatras, we can also enjoy the view from the South 3 housing estate. Poprad - Tatras railway station is important in Poprad, where international express trains from Prague also stop, Vienna Bratislava and Žilina.
From the station Poprad - Tatras we can continue by train to Starý Smokovec or Tatranský Lomnice. The city plays both football (FK Poprad) and hockey (HK Poprad). When you are in this town, have a Slovakian Potato Dumplings with Bryndza Cheese and a beer Zlatý Bažant.
