I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your recent photos and reviews on Google Maps. I am an American but have had the good fortune to visit Krakow and other parts of Poland three times.
I was especially impressed with the clarity of your recent photos and would like to know what kind of camera you use for your Map photos.
Nice that you have had the chance to visit already 3 times Krakow. I hope you enjoyed Poland.
I‘m in fact from Germany, but Krakow is my second home.
I have since one week an iPhone 12 mini and I‘m super happy with the picture quality. While night photos and as well the picture here are mainly done by Google Pixel 3.
The new iPhone 12 is something I have been contemplating, mainly because of the camera function. I was impressed with your photos of the Krakow beer tavern. I sent copies of the three photos to my children and sons-in-law all of whom are fair connoisseurs of beer and ale. When we can travel more, I’ll be visiting some of our (USA) microbreweries and reviewing them.
How were you able to get such wonderful closeups in the Wieliczka salt mines? Are tourists allowed on the floor or must they still stay on the viewing platforms? Does one still need to buy a photographing “license?”
Again, thank you, Georgene aka “Cercis”
Yes, Krakow is a fantastic city. It is so good to “talk” with some one who knows it well. Where is home base for you in Germany?
In Weliczka you need no more any photo permission. I believe due to mobile phones they where no more able to handle and only the honest did pay. You can visit the main cathedral always, the other is now open after over 10 years renovation. You can both visit as well on the floor.
Im now back in Munich. Saturday I will go to Austria to pick up my son and than we have a 4 weeks Europe trip in front of us.
