Anybody can make a podcast @KishorMali
However, the entire Local Guide program is a voluntary & non-profit activity. Thus, one can’t expect any compensation for making such podcast.
You can display a link to your podcast. However, you can’t do any active promotion.
I remember some persons making the podcasts even before starting the role as Connect moderator.
Hello @KishorMali , any local guide can create a podcast if (s)he wants to do so, not only Connect Moderators, as long as you respect the rules with regards to e.g. intellectual property (not using official Google logo’s or artwork, clearly state it is unofficial, etc). Actually I was not yet a moderator when I started publishing the podcast. Both @AdrianLunsong 's and mine started (by coincidence) around the same time, early 2019, and are really a manifestation of our enthusiasm about the entire local guides program. Recently another podcast was started, but that is in Spanish.
As for the financial aspect: making a podcast will bring you the same amount of money as the other contribitions you make in the context of the local guides program: no money at all - it’s all a 100% voluntary effort. We do get rewarded with loads of wonderful feedback from other local guides, and that is quite energizing and a huge reward in itself, if you ask me.
Should you want to give making a podcast a go yourself: make sure to check out Anchor - the technical aspects of recording a podcast are quite easy these days. But be aware: coming up with good content is much more challenging!
By the way: on the website of the LetsGuide Podcast, you will see that for all episodes the transcripts are available and you absolutely free to use them to e.g. create a version on some of the epsiodes in you local language (provided of course you clearly state that it is originally my content).
Thanks… Your both answer are very good… But I find JanvanHaver answer is, having more details… So, I satisfied with this and my all questions are Solved… Thanks…
@KishorMali Totally agree with @JanVanHaver 's comments! In my opinion, the Go Loco podcast is based more on interviews and surfacing the wonderful stories of Local Guides and the LetsGuide podcast is quite literally a ‘let’s guide’ podcast that is educational and teaches you to be a better Local Guide! As Jan mentioned, it was by coincidence that we started at the same time and by luck, our focus areas were different as well so we don’t compete!
If you need any tips for starting your own podcast feel free to get in touch!
@KishorMali I’m not sure my podcast is relevant to your posts! They are more about people really! But do check it out and see if anything is of interest!
