Kairakuen“偕楽園 ” is a historic garden founded by Nariaki Tokugawa“徳川斉昭” the 9th Mito feudal lord in 1842.
From Feburary 15 to March 29, Plum Tree Blossom festival will be held at Kairakuen“偕楽園 ”.
In Kairakuen“偕楽園 ”, there are 3,000 plum trees in about 100 varieties.
From sunset to 21:00, the plum trees are illuminated with natural lights and is nightscape is very fantastic.
Especially, the reflection view from the south shore of Lake Senba“千波湖 ”, Tsukiike“月池” and the waterway nearby Tazu-Naki Bairin“田鶴鳴梅林” is beautiful.
Please come to Kairakuen“偕楽園 ” and enjoy the luxurious aroma from the blossoms of plums.

今年は例年よりも早く梅が咲いており、来週くらいには偕楽園は見頃を迎える感じです。
暖冬の影響で桜が早く咲かないことを祈るばかりです(^_^;

I thought Japan was all about cherry blossoms, but these plum trees look just as beautiful. I agree with you about the reflection, it adds a whole new layer to the photos.

In Japan, cherry blossoms blooms in April, but plum trees blooms in February to early March.

I’ve seen plenty of the cherry blossoms, we have them several places in Denmark too and they really live up the area with their pink colors.
I like what they did with the lights at this event though, it enhances the whole experience.

Kairakuen Park is famous of plum blossoms. Kairakuen is the traditional Japanese park . We can enjoy smelling of plum blossoms in this season.
