I was not on Connect back in 2017 but I don’t think a moderator can change this status.
Let’s wait for someone from Google or an older and knowledgeable moderator to comment on this.
I am tagging moderator @NareshDarji who has been on Connect since the beginning.
At a personal level, and not as a moderator, my suggestion would be to post a new topic in the travel category with latest photos and updates.
I am sure many things have changed in the past 7 years at that place.
